摘要
In order to solve the problem of NH3 containing waste gas treatment from agricultural sources, this work investigates the selective catalytic oxidation (SCO) of NH3 using plasma-coupled Cu-Mn/SAPO-34 catalyst under simulated actual operating conditions (low temperatures (<200 °C) under oxygen-rich conditions (20 vol.%)). The results indicate that 90% NH3 conversion and 97% N2 selectivity can be achieved at an energy density (ED) of 30 J/L.In situ diffuse reflectance infrared spectroscopy (DRIFTS) combined with optical emission spectroscopic diagnostics has been employed to elucidate the reaction mechanism of NH3 conversion in the plasma-coupled catalyst. Plasma discharge leads to the direct dissociation of NH3, and the NH/NH2formed by the collision of NH3 with electrons reacts with short-lived and long-lived active species generated by discharge, leading to the formation of NOX. NOX reacts with NH3 in the gas phase to form NH4NO3, which then decomposes into N2 on the catalyst surface. Under simulated actual operating conditions (160 °C with a high gaseous hourly space velocity and relative humidity), nearly 100% N2 selectivity is achieved, demonstrating the great potential of this technology for practical application. This work successfully demonstrates an innovative NH3-SCO process using a plasma-coupled catalyst under low-temperature and oxygen-rich conditions.
